The Bushnell Scout 1000 ARC laser range finder is making a name for itself as one of the most potent hunting rangefinders on the market today. Hunters everywhere continue to turn to this model for the utmost in accuracy, precision adjustments and more.
This model features a 5x magnification level and a 24mm objective lens. It has a reflective distance range of up to 1,000 yards and can pinpoint soft targets at ranges up to 300 yards. Its intermediary range is 600 yards and it provides accuracy within a yard.
Where the Bushnell Scout 1000 ARC really shines is all of the various modes it has, and the technology and accuracy that it provides. First of all, the ARC designation means Angle Range Compensation technology, which adjusts for your inclination and the terrain angle to provide a true shooting distance instead of just a face value readout.
There are other modes that can be used to provide great accuracy and useful additional information. If you're a bow hunter, you can use the Bow targeting mode to provide accurate horizontal distances in a range of 5 to 99 yards. In Rifle targeting mode you'll be able to get precise details on bullet drop or holdover adjustments in ranges of 100 yards to 600 yards.
BullsEye mode will help you to accurately gauge close up targets without interference from background targets, and Brush mode will allow you to target right past any brush, bushes or other foreground objects enabling you to target an object in the distance.
In addition to all of the above features, the Bushnell Scout 1000 ARC laser range finder is extremely compact and portable. It weighs just 6.6 ounces and measures just 1.6 x 2.8 x 3.1 inches, making it easy to carry in any pocket.
The Bushnell Scout 1000 ARC laser range finder is the hunter's perfect tool. Whether you go for your prey with a bow or a rifle, you'll have precisely accurate ranges to help you get off the perfect shot.
Amazingly compact and simple to use, this Bushnell Scout 1000 rangefinder features Bushnell's exclusive Angle Range Compensation (ARC) technology, which accounts for terrain angle to give you an accurate "shoots-like" distance--all with the tap of a button. A Bow mode provides true horizontal distance from 5 to 99 yards, while the Rifle mode provides bullet-drop/holdover data in inches from 100 to 800 yards. This weather-resistant rangefinder features a black body, built-in inclinometer, fully multi-coated optics, and built-in tripod mount.
Targeting Modes
Bow: Provides true horizontal distance from 5 to 99 yards based on angle.
Rifle Mode: Select the ballistic group of your firearm (guidelines supplied). When you range your target, an inclinometer displays the angle and provides bullet-drop/holdover in inches (up to 99") from 100 to 600 yards.
SCAN: Allows you to pan across the landscape while viewing a continuously updated LCD display of the distances between you and the targets you scan.
BullsEye: Geared for close-range use, this mode acquires the distances of small targets and game without inadvertently measuring background target distances. When more than one object is acquired, the closer of the two objects is shown on the LCD display.
Brush: Ignores the foreground, such as brush, boulders and tree branches, and provides distances on the LCD display to background objects only.

How a Laser Rangefinder Works Bushnell's Yardage Pro rangefinders use an invisible, eye-safe Class 1 Laser beam (as classified by the FDA) which is "bounced" off distant objects with the press of a button. Then, the rangefinder's high-speed digital clock measures the time it took for a laser beam to reach a target and return to the unit. Next, using advanced digital electronics, the rangefinder instantly calculates the distance within ±1 yard and shows the range in either yards or meters on a through-the-lens LCD Display. The entire process is so fast that less than a second elapses between the time you press the button to generate a laser beam to the time the exact range to your target is displayed.

This is my first year out bowhunting (Elk in the Rockies) and I wanted a range finder for it. After doing some research I thought I had it narrowed down to the Nikon Archers Choice or the Bushnell BowHunter "Chuck Adams" edition. I went into the local Bass Pro Shop to get my hands on them and to my surprise both were complete crap compared to the Scout 1000 Arc. I could sit here and go through all the reasons why the Scout 1000 is a better choice but you'd be better off doing your own hands-on comparison. I got a killer deal on it too $230.00 shipped to my door. Bass Pro Shop had it for $249.00 + tax after mail-in $50 rebate. Just checked today and the seller I bought it from raised the price to $274.00 go figure?
Do your research then put your hands on them before you buy, you'll be glad you did.
